"Police Dogs"This photo of these two dogs "of good taste" was submitted by their owner, Holly of Olde Dame Penniwig. This is what she writes:
"They are very old dogs, and are both rescues.
I think it is funny how my dogs want to eat donuts. They run around with the donuts in their mouths, and we call them "police dogs" because they love donuts as much as the policemen* do."
It's a blurry picture, because, Holly tells me, they won't stand still long and she had the back door shut so they would stand still for a few seconds. Then they both ran into the yard and ate their donuts.
The reasons donuts are the perfect cops food:1. Donuts are relatively inexpensive, so they can be discarded with little guilt, in case of a hot call in the middle of a snack break.
2. In many areas, the donut shop is the only place open 24 hours.
3. Donuts have sugar and carbohydrates, which allow for quick energy. Donuts, coupled with the ever present cup of coffee, help keep the officers awake and alert.
4. Donut shops are usually located in centralized areas, which can be used as a meeting place for briefings between Officers of different agencies or shifts.
5. Donuts are TASTY! Can you think of anyone who DOESN'T like donuts? ...Obviously not, because even these two wise old dogs know what tastes oh, so good!
