Blue Skies...smiling at me...

...nothing but blue skies...do I see - Deedl-De-Deeeee ;-)

Can you tell I'm a happy camper? We've had a couple of cold days and Gizzy and I have been enjoying our walks extremely well. Maybe because he's from China and I'm from Germany, it's in our nature to prefer the cooler temperatures. All I know is that he skips and prances with new found energy and I can breathe again, being able to take full, deep breaths without hacking and coughing. Hallelujah!

Today, I'd like to show you some photos of our walk. I think I got some good ones.

Heading out towards the road that leads to lake Irma.

...but not without stopping to investigate. I collected some perfect looking pine cones.

The old, dilapidated barn, where Sally, the horse, used to live. I miss her!

The meadow where Sally used to graze. If you look closely, you still can see some morning dew on the grass. If this were my lot, I'd have a couple of sheep and some goats in there.

Gizzy on his "wagon" (aka my rollator/walker) waiting to be pushed down the hill towards the lake, where he will walk again.

Lake Irma in all its splendor!

Standing here, I thank God for days like today!

What in the world is this Sago Palm doing?

Ye ole fishing hole! On the upper left is the fishing deck, but it also has a table and bench so that it would be a perfect spot for a picnic, especially now that it's more bugless.

You can go down the steps and over those bridges and into the woods. It's a nature trail that winds around and takes you back where you started from. Gizzy and I have often wandered through there along the little creek. It's kind of muddy down there now because of all the rain we've had this year.

Our two new resident ducks come running and squawking, hoping for some food. I don't know how they got there, but they're very tame and beg people for bread. They are so sweet. They go everywhere together. The smaller one's coloring is kind of like Gizzy's.

Aren't they just adorable? If it were up to me, the whole world would be vegetarian.

This is the half way mark, where Gizzy and I always stop, have some water and he has a biscuit and then I give him a good brushing and sometimes snap some photos - like today!

I just love to see the water sparkle as if it were full of little stars.

This Dogwood tree was covered with beautiful white blossoms in the spring and is now full of those little red berries.

Another bold and bright red berry bush. I don't know what it is, but it sure looks impressive!

I love the faithful rose! She seems hardy and blooms in the hot and cold weather.

I enjoy the autumn decorations that remind me of the holidays and the promise of Christmas!

What a lovely display of color!

Look at that! A Bumbleebee collecting nectar and pollen from a blooming bush (I don't know its name.) Look at Ms. Bumblebee's pollen sacks, stuffed full to the brim - she's getting ready for winter alright!

A cluster of cheerful lookingImpatience flowers add a splash of color to the landscape.

I hope you enjoyed our little walk around the neighborhood.
